About Me

Dagoberto Silva was born on April 19, 1952 in Vila Nova de Gaia, where he resides and pursues the professional activity of plastic artist in his atelier. He studied arts at the Soares dos Reis school in Oporto and exhibits since 1976. The scholarship that he attended by the European Council in Venice was decisive in defining his artistic vocabulary.

In Dagoberto’s painting, an impressionistic vision is present, with the fleeting capture of a given moment. It is, above all, a painter of “Free Air”, with works that show interest in capturing a given reality. Technically, the works of Dagoberto are characterized by the juxtaposition of free, nervous and spontaneous brushstrokes with a strong impressionistic and expressionistic character. Dagoberto uses above all, a palette of warm and contrasting colors that give brightness and luminosity to his works that are loaded with a great sensibility and technique.

With works exhibited in several galleries, his work is represented in several private and institutional collections in Portugal and abroad.
